Qatar Petroleum holds graduation recognition ceremony for 243 students under its scholarship and technical training programs
Doha, Qatar: 18 January 2012 - Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of QP , Qatar Petroleum gave recognition yesterday to a total of 243 QP -sponsored Qatari students who had successfully completed their studies in 2011.
The graduation recognition ceremony, which was organized by QP 's Corporate Training Department, honoured eight QP staff who had obtained master's degrees, three who had finished their post-graduate studies and 136 students who had received bachelor's degrees. Also recognized during the event were 16 students who had obtained certificates, 61 who had received diplomas, seven students with Higher National Diploma (HND), and 12 others who had achieved their TAFE (Training and Further Education) Certificate 3.
Mr. Hamad Rashid Al-Mohannadi, Deputy Chairman of the QP Board of Directors and Managing Director of RasGas, congratulated all the graduates on behalf of H.E. Dr. Al-Sada and he presented each of them with a Certificate of Appreciation for their dedication and in recognition of their academic achievements.
In his speech during the event, Mr. Ahmad Ali Abdulla Al-Mawlawi,

Director for Administration, also lauded the graduates for their hard work and commitment, which were instrumental in the completion of their studies.
"I would like to commend all of you for doing your best in your studies, and we now look forward to the important role that you will play in
QP
's operations. Consistent with the corporation's long-standing policy, we will continue to provide you with programs and opportunities for your continued professional development as you undertake your duties and responsibilities in your respective departments," said Mr. Al-Mawlawi.
In line with QP 's scholarship program, their fields of study range from petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering and computer sciences to electrical engineering, environmental engineering, geology, and industrial engineering. Other courses covered by the program include fire & safety engineering, logistics and supply chain, instrumentation engineering, civil engineering and quantity surveying.
With the completion of their academic studies and training courses, the QP graduates are now applying what they have learned in the various QP departments to which they are assigned. Among these departments are Engineering Business, Field Support, Gas Processing and Gas Recycling, Human Resources, Oil Development, Offshore and Onshore Engineering, ICT Infrastructure and Information Systems, Purchasing and Contracts.
The graduation recognition ceremony, which was held at the Al Majlis Hall of Sheraton Hotel Doha, was attended by many senior QP officials as well as by the families and friends of the graduates.
