Bank Audi and Bankers Assistance: an e-Solution from Bank Audi to Simplify Payments at Pharmacies
Beirut, January 16, 2012: In collaboration with Bank Audi , Bankers Assistance developed an e-solution to simplify payments at pharmacies: Bankers cardholders can now purchase their medication and have the company settle the due amount to pharmacies within 48 hours through Bank Audi 's electronic portal. The initiative was taken by Dr. Ziad Nsour, President of the Order of Pharmacists in Lebanon, who requested a simplified payment process in order to ease the burden of pharmacists processing claims from Third Party Administrators (T.P.A.). Indeed, T.P.A.s are now requested to pay their dues to pharmacies immediately, instead of after a period of time exceeding one month, which was previously the case and represented an additional burden for pharmacies on which the Order of Pharmacists had also imposed two regulations, namely forbidding discounts (between 10 and 20% on medication) and free-of-charge home delivery services.Bankers Assistance is the first T.P.A. in Lebanon to sign a cooperation agreement with the Order of Pharmacists. To announce this partnership, Bank Audi and Bankers Assistance invited pharmacists and media representatives to a gathering at the headquarters of the Order of Pharmacists, during which Mrs. Diana Haidar, Assistant General Manager at Bankers Assistance, revealed the new e-solution provided via Bank Audi 's e-portal. Bankers Assistance is the first T.P.A. in Lebanon to opt for this simple and cost-free solution which allows pharmacists to be reimbursed within 48 hours through Bank Audi .
On this occasion, Mrs. Randa Bdeir, Head of Electronic Banking & Cards Services at Bank Audi sal - Audi Saradar Group , said: "Our presence here today is a testimony of Bank Audi 's commitment to take e-solutions a step further and to helping customers make their daily banking operations easier, especially that the e-solution we've developed allows pharmacists to be reimbursed within 48 hours."
As for Mrs. Haidar, she stated: "To date, 400 pharmacies in Lebanon deal with Bankers Assistance which is managed by Mr. Georges Abdel Massih. We hope that this cooperation agreement with Bank Audi will encourage other pharmacies to join the network of pharmacies already dealing with us."
Mrs. Haidar added that this landmark deal will be followed by similar initiatives in other fields, within the context of services offered by Bankers Assistance to its customers, such as "out-hospital" services, for instance.
