Dubai World Trade Centre kicks off the 2012 Exhibition calender with over 135,000 visitors and 5,000 exhibitors expected in January

2012 Events Calendar Launches Tomorrow

Dubai World Trade Centre , ( DWTC ), the region's leading venue operator and event's organiser anticipates 2012 to be one of its busiest year's to-date with more than 5000 exhibiting companies and 135,000 trade visitors from over 150 countries expected in January alone. This strong start to 2012 further enhances Dubai's strategic position as the leading regional business hub and events destination.

2012 will commence on a high-note with DWTC hosting events covering a range of cutting-edge sectors that include healthcare, bio-technology, security and digital design which will set the pace for what promises to be a fruitful and energized year for trade and business development in the UAE. The events organised and hosted by DWTC play an essential role in building an umbrella for business networking opportunities and deals through continued growth of top tier exhibitors and quality visitors.

The impressive schedule of events planned for January includes Intersec, the leading regional trade event in the security, safety and protection industries that opens tomorrow, 15th January through to 17th January. The event will focus on four niche vertical sections, namely: Commercial & Information Security; Homeland Security & Policing; Safety & Health and Fire & Rescue, providing an up to date reflection of the industry portfolio and the latest trends. Having grown by 25% last year, 2012 is expected to further build on this growth as the security market in the Arabian Gulf is now worth over AED3.6 billion and is projected to grow at 10% annually. Intersec will also host the 1st Global Network on Emerging Medicine Conference, which is taking place alongside Intersec between 15th to 17th January. The conference will target medical professionals who deal with the complex nature of Emergency Medicine.

The Middle East's largest and most influential healthcare exhibition, Arab Health, will take place from 23rd to 26th January. Now in its 37th year, Arab Health is expecting to host over 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries along with more than 75,000 healthcare professionals from across the world. Arab Health 2012 looks to be another successful year and will see it stage the world's most prolific sector related congress, with 17 CME-accredited conferences and over 500 internationally acclaimed speakers. The event promises to present the global healthcare industry with yet another unrivalled medical congress programme.

Now in its 15th year, the Sign and Graphic Imaging Middle East Exhibition is a specialised show dedicated to the Middle East's signage, outdoor media, screen and digital printing industries. Held from 31st January to 2nd February, the exhibition is expecting to attract over 10,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors from 30 countries. Research was recently conducted by Intel indicating that the digital signage industry worldwide is growing at a compound annual growth rate of 26% and the world will have over 22 million digital signs by 2015.

Running during the same period of 31st January to 2nd February, the 15th edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition AEEDC Dubai, the pioneering and largest dental event in the Middle East and North Africa region will be held at DWTC . Last year, over 27,000 dental professionals and trade visitors from 120 countries participated in the event and AEEDC Dubai is now positioned as the 3rd largest dental event in the world.

January's strong industry presence will be continued through the rest of the season with the region's most prolific events on the robust calendar. Some highlights include: Gulfood, the world's biggest annual food and hospitality event which covered over a million square feet in 2011 and attracted 62,024 visitors from over 150 countries, from 19th to 22nnd February; CABSAT, an established and respected trade platform for the digital media and satellite sectors across the Middle East, Africa and Southern Asian regions, from 28th February to 1st March; Careers UAE, the most established leading recruitment, education and training event exclusively for UAE nationals, from 5th to 7th March; the Dubai International Boat Show, celebrating 20 years this year, is one of the most anticipated marine events in the region, from 13th to 17th March; Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, the most prestigious competition of its kind in the Arabian equine world, from 15th to 17th March; The World Heart Foundation's (WHF) World Congress of Cardiology, being hosted for the first time in the region, with over 12,000 healthcare professionals expected to attend and share the latest scientific research on treatment and prevention in the field, from 18th to 21st April; Arabian Travel Market, a leading travel and tourism event unlocking business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals, from 30th April to 3rd May; and Dubai Sports World, the largest indoor sporting festival in the UAE which kicks off the summer season from 8th June through 31st August.
