"Saudi Airlines Catering" signs a lease-agreement to receive Industrial land plot at the Industrial Valley in King Abdullah Economic City
King Abdullah Economic City - January 11th, 2012 - King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), announced a lease- agreement with the Saudi Airlines Catering (SAC) and handed over an Industrial land plot at the Industrial Valley for the establishment of it's industrial laundries project slated to be the largest in the GCC. The contract was signed by His Excellency Engineer Khalid Bin Abdullah Almolhem, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines and Chairman of SAC Board of Directors, and Mr. Fahd Bin AbdulMuhsen Al-Rasheed, Managing Director and CEO of KAEC, in the presence of the SAC's Board of Directors, and a number of senior executives from KAEC.The new plant will be covering an area of 22,000 square meters at an investment of SR 50 million, and once completed, it will include the latest high-capacity laundry technologies. The project will meet the massive needs of Saudi Arabian Airlines and of other industrial and servicing facilities in KAEC. In addition, once operational, the new factory is expected to create many new jobs opportunities, and to train and develop skills for Saudi talents.
Commenting on the event, His Excellency Engineer Khalid Almolhem: "We are pleased to be part of KAEC's rapid expansions through our new industrial laundry facility at the Industrial Valley. This is an important step within the strategic approach of SAC to expand its businesses, strengthen its activities, and upgrade its operations within the Kingdom and globally". He added, "Since the launch of SAC in the city of Jeddah in 1981, the company's focus has been towards expanding its business and improving the quality of its services, the winning of SAC's IATA International Catering Quality Assurance (ICQA) Golden Award for two consecutive years in 2009 and 2010 is an evidence of its continuous quality of service; furthermore, the company has implemented a number of initiatives, including the development of Saudi cadres through employment opportunities and training programs".
He further added: "Industrial Valley enjoys high quality services and facilities that come together to deliver an ideal industrial and operational hub".
Mr. Ahmed Linjawy, President of Industry and City Services in KAEC highlighted "KAEC has recently seen the completion of leasing the first phase of the Industrial Valley and the launch of the second phase", He added "The Industrial Valley which has been designed with global planning standards for industrial zones, become a hub for a large number of local and global industrial companies looking to establish projects either through ownership or long-term lease. We treat each client as unique from every other and see to it that we can support requirements of both local and international manufacturers".
Linjawy explained, "There are numerous advantages for local and global major companies which help create an atmosphere of investments. These include clear and business-encouraging regulations and hassle-free processes, ease of issuing permits and licenses and the possibility of providing qualified manpower through training centers for Saudi talents. The availability of housing solutions within the vicinity of the Industrial Valley and the direct link with King Abdullah Economic City seaport makes the Industrial Valley a global logistical hub and an access point to reach about 250 million consumers in the Middle East and North Africa, not to mention the availability of Al-Haramain Train station in KAEC".
"Industrial Valley enjoys a world-class infrastructure, efficient support services including electricity, water, sanitation, and modern telecommunications services". He also added.
