DM honours private companies for public health standards
Dubai Municipality has recently honoured 28 companies who have demonstrated support and commitment to public health and safety standards. The companies were awarded with certificates either for their safe products or for maintaining safe environment for their customers, employees, labourers and the general public.

"Creating an excellent and safe city is not an easy task. It requires the support of everyone especially the private sector" Said Eng. Redha Salman, Director of Public Health and Safety Department during the event.

"We are very proud of these companies and we hope that through this honouring , we can spread the message that safety is everyone's responsibility. We acknowledge the efforts of the private sector and its compliance with safety standards and also we are happy to showcase their achievements to motivate other establishments to follow their lead." Redha added

Arabtech constructions, Emirates Roads Contracting Company and Pacific Contract Systems were honoured for their best performances in facilitating with accommodation complying with DM requirements for its labours. The three companies has assured public health and safety measures to labours as well as beautified their premises adding comfort living conditions to workfolk.

In the category of barbershops ,Lounge Gents Salon, Shadi Hair Dressings, Ghassan Chehayeb, Pretty Ladies Salon, The Nail Spa, and Omsiyat were listed awardees for their functioning with cleanliness and sterilization.

J W Mariott, Rydges Plaza and Layia Plaza received the awards for best performance in the category of hotels, for their no -health safety violation-track record and good co operation with DM Health Department. For Maintaining safe water storage and distribution systems, Movepick and Mina A' Salam bagged away the awards.

In the cosmetics and perfumes category, Wool Worth, Estee Lauder Me FZE and Kalis Perfumes won the applauds given their fast completion of DM requirements and approved specifications.

Gulf Centre for Soaps and Chemicals, Unilever Arabia and MAF Hypermarkets scored high marks in DM requirements and were honoured in the detergents companies section.

Engr. Salah Amiri, Assistant Director General for Environment and Public Health Services Sector ,Mr. Khalid Abdulrahim, Director, Customer Relationship Department and representatives of the companies attended the award distribution ceremony.

Public Health and Safety Department had conducted more than 48,000 inspections in 2011 where 28 companies were recognized for their exemplary performance and later announced winners under 10 different award categories.
