Top developers to participate in India Realty expo in Dubai
By Our correspondent MUMBAI - Top developers from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Goa are participating in the three-day Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) India Realty expo in Dubai beginning January 12 at the Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Deira. The event, held in association with Khaleej Times, will feature hundreds of commercial and residential properties, ranging in price from Rs1 million to Rs100 million-plus.
"The current exchange rate of the US dollar to the Indian rupee makes home buying more than 15 per cent cheaper," Zubin Mehta, CEO, MCHI, told Khaleej Times here on Monday.
According to him, the expo, being organised by India's top real estate developers body - with more than 1,000 developers from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as its members - will provide potential buyers direct access to developers, besides fetching competitive prices.
Every developer participating in the MCHI expo is bound by a commitment of compensation for any delay in giving possession of the property and customers are safeguarded in their purchases by a self-imposed code of conduct, added the chamber's CEO.
K.K. Ramani, senior advocate and author of several books, will share his insights on 'Wills, testimonials and succession for NRIs in property matters.' He will cover topics including 'reasons for making a will,' 'precautions in making a will' and 'tax planning through wills'.
Hari Raheja, a senior income-tax and property law advocate -- who is associated with the top law firm, D.M. Harish & Co -- will highlight aspects of income and capital gains tax, property and repatriation procedures for NRIs.
The event will be presided over by Dr Ram Buxani, president, ITL Cosmos group, who will also focus on the importance of real estate buying from an NRI's perspective.
