Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, KPC sign memorandum of understanding
To provide talented and gifted Kuwaitis the platform to commercialize their solutions in the energy and environmental fields
Both SACGC and KPC share a common interest in capitalizing on their respective strengths to perform research and development (R&D) leading to commercial solutions to energy and environmental issues, and desire to promote and develop closer scientific and technological cooperation in the development and application of energy and environmental sciences for the mutual benefit of SACGC and KPC .
SACGC Chairman, Dr. Bader Al Omar said: "We are privileged to have a research and development-driven company like KPC work hand-in-hand with us to capitalize on Kuwait's human resource. This collaboration is a big step towards promoting science and technology in the field of energy for the advancement of Kuwait.
1. Stimulating the initiation and coordination of cooperative activities;
3. Encouraging innovation awareness for public;
4. Attaining international recognition and reputation for the conduct of world-class research and development;
5. Fostering innovation and the creation of collaborative research and development (R&D) projects;
6. Promoting technology transfer and commercialization; and
7. Other cooperative activities as may be identified and determined mutually beneficial.
SACGC General Manager, Dr. Omar Al Bannai said: "Together, with our combined skill, knowledge, and practice, we believe SACGC and KPC can lead in fostering innovation and commercializing Kuwaiti-made solutions and technologies. We thank KPC for opening its doors and we look forward to working with them."
SACGC is an initiative by HH the Amir of Kuwait with a mandate to find, foster, and support gifted Kuwaitis by providing them with a support and mentoring platform that enables them to excel and become globally competitive in their fields.
KPC is a state-owned entity responsible for Kuwait's hydrocarbon interests throughout the world. The company has all state-owned elements that help produce, refine, and transport oil and gas both locally and internationally under one umbrella.
Mr. Bader Al Khashti, KPC Managing Director of Research and Development, and Healthy, Safety and Environment, and Dr. Bader Al Omar, SACGC Chairman, signed the MOU in a ceremony that included Mr. Farouk Al Zanki, KPC CEO, Mr. Fahad Al Nouri, KPC Head of Research and Development, and Dr. Omar Al Bannai, SACGC General Manager.
SACGC collaborates with Kuwait's most-renowned entities, institutions, and companies to extend the specialized support for talented and gifted Kuwaitis. Earlier this year, SACGC collaborated with the Ministry of Education to design and implement educational programs that recognize and nurture gifted Kuwaitis at a very young age.
Since its establishment, SACGC has also worked alongside the Kuwait Science Club, to support Kuwait's innovators through specialized programs and activities.
SACGC defines gifted individuals as individuals who demonstrate outstanding levels of aptitude or competence in one or more domains. Domains include any structured area of activity with its own symbol system (e.g., mathematics, music, language) and/or set of sensorimotor skills (e.g., painting, arts, sports).

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) was established in May 2010 as an initiative by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
