DEWA honors 16 of its distinguished employees
Dubai, UAE - December 24, 2011: During a ceremony held at its main office, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has honored 16 of its distinguished employees during the second quarter of 2011 in recognition of their dedicated efforts. This ceremony was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA , and a number of DEWA 's EVPs. This recognition is part of initiatives, aiming to develop and encourage employees to continue their dedication and enhance the quality of the services provided, as well as promote DEWA at regional and international levels.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, VP-HR and EVP-Business Support, have honored employees, in the presence of a number of DEWA 's top officials.
"This honour is in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to care for employees and provide them with a positive and challenging workplace, so as to enhance their efficiency and performance," HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said.
"Excellence is one of the most important success factors for any organization, that's why DEWA is keen to the most appropriate workplaces for its employees to encourage them to improve themselves, spare no efforts to achieve excellence through their careers, so as to achieve excellence in performance," DR. Yousef Al Akraf said.
Awards included cash, trophies, valuable gift coupons, and certificates of recognition.
Excellence and Recognition Awards Programme was introduced in 1999 in recognition to employees for their dedication, excellence, and job loyalty, and also in line with DEWA 's mission and vision. DEWA has always been keen to recognize its employees for their excellent performance either as individuals or work teams to increase their productivity and efficiency.
