ENOC hosts 6th regional conference on implementing environment, health and safety practices at workplace
Dubai, UAE; December 15, 2011: Emirates National Oil Company ( ENOC ) joined hands with the American Society of Safety Engineers - Middle East Chapter (ASSE-MEC) and the UAE Society of Engineers (SoE) to host the sixth regional conference on effectively implementing environment, health and safety (EHS) practices at the workplace held today in Dubai.
Attended by EHS professionals from across the region, the technical conference and symposium also set the tempo for the 2012 ASSE-MEC Professional Development Conference & Exhibition, to be held from February 20 to 24, 2012, in Bahrain. The conference further marked the formal launch of the Society of Engineer's EHS Committee and its objectives, apart from highlighting the roles the ASSE-MEC and the UAE SoE play in developing technical and EHS staff in the country and the wider region.
" ENOC is committed to introducing the best practices in environment, health and safety to enhance the well-being of all our stakeholders. The objective of the conference was to raise awareness on the importance of safety in the industry and emphasize the significance of developing technical and EHS staff in the UAE and the region," said Saif Al Falasi, Executive Director of ENOC EHSQ & Corporate Affairs.
Safety supervisors, managers, and practitioners, occupational health physicians, nurses and specialists, industrial hygienists, engineers and various EHS specialists took part in the conference.
ENOC regularly conducts environment, health and safety programmes, in addition to organising events that bring professionals from around the world to discuss the newest trends and challenges in the industry.
