Cisco Awarded 'Best CSR Partner' at Dubai Women's College Awards Ceremony

Dubai, UAE, December 14, 2011: Cisco announced today that is has been awarded 'Best CSR Partner' at Dubai Women's College (DWC) "Celebration of Partnership' awards ceremony. The annual ceremony, held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology , took place today at DWC. The awards ceremony honored several companies and students for their contributions towards DWC initiatives.

Cisco's award was in recognition of its long-term partnership with HCT and the launch of Cisco Networking Academy courses throughout HCT campuses, including DWC. The courses offered networking students a range of modules including: Cisco-ITE, Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco Certified Network Professional as well as seminars conducted by Cisco specialists and field visits.

Cisco Networking Academy is a global education program that teaches students how to design, build, troubleshoot and secure computer networks for increased access to career and economic opportunities in communities around the world. Networking Academy provides online courses, interactive tools and hands-on learning activities to help individuals prepare for ICT and networking careers in virtually every type of industry. The Networking Academy began in 1997 with 64 schools and has grown to become one of the "world's largest classrooms" with 10,000 academies in 165 countries, and nearly 4 million students having participated in the program to date. Today there are 770 active Cisco academies in the Middle East with over 189,000 students since inception.
