Sheikha Moza, Prince Alwaleed & Princess Ameerah Attend "Reach Out To Asia" Charity Dinner In Qatar
Alwaleed Foundation Donates SR7 Million
During the trip Prince Alwaleed and Princess Ameerah attended the 4th Charity Gala Dinner "Reach out to Asia" (ROTA) with HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al Missned, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation on behalf of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar. The occasion was also attended by HH Sheikha Al-Mayassa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairperson of "Reach Out To Asia" ROTA, HE President Heinz Fischer, President of Austria and the First Lady Mrs. Margit Fischer. Moreover, Alwaleed Foundation donated SR7 million during the occasion for their core operations for the building of schools in rural and poor areas in Asia.
The Gala Dinner was held at the KATARA Cultural Village in the capital Doha under the patronage of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa and also attended by other VIPS, dignitaries and government officials. The event program consisted of an opening speech and a presentation by HH Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Prince Alwaleed and Princess Ameerah were accompanied by a delegation that included Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the chairman, Mr. Hani Agha, Senior Manager, Travel and External Affairs Department and Mr. Fahad Alofy, Executive Assistant to HRH the chairman.
In June 2010 HRH met with Mr. Ahmad Al-Sayed, CEO of Qatar Holding with an accompanying delegation.
In April 2010, HRH attended the "FGCCC Outlook, Leading the Next 30 Years" Gala Dinner with HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, HE President Michel Sleiman of Lebanon and HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on Tuesday April 6th 2010 in Doha, Qatar. The event was held under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar.
In 2009, Prince Alwaleed and HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel Vice Chairwoman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed attended the 3rd Charity Gala Dinner "Reach out to Asia" (ROTA) with HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar and HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al Missned.
In 2005, Prince Alwaleed made a contribution through Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation during the charity dinner ceremony held in Doha to aid afflicted areas in Asia as part of the Helping Hands Initiative for Asia.
Furthermore in the same year, Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) chaired by Prince Alwaleed, announced an US$847 Million Transaction with Qatari Diar involving Fairmont Raffles Holdings International. Under the agreements, Voyager has acquired for a combination of cash and other consideration a 40% shareholding in FRHI. In addition, QDHP has undertaken to provide FRHI with a number of future management contracts for hotels that will be branded either Fairmont, Raffles or Swissotel. In 2006, Kingdom and Colony completed the acquisition of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts which was combined with the Raffles Hotels Group for $5.5 billion.
Moreover, His Highness's investments in hotels through KHC include the management of the Four Seasons Doha, Movenpick Doha and Movenpick Doha Tower and Suites, and in the financial sector through Citigroup. Furthermore, Raffles manages the Le Royal Monceau in Paris.
