KEC International wins Saudi Electricity deal
JEDDAH: KEC International has received a 3060 million Indian rupee contract (around SR235 million) from Saudi Arabia.The company, which is part of RPG Group, is into infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities.
The order from Saudi Arabia is for 380 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines and has been awarded by the Saudi Electricity Company ( SEC ).
The contract is expected to be completed in 24 months.
"We are happy to keep the continuous momentum of new orders despite the challenging global economic environment," KEC International managing director and CEO Ramesh Chandak said.
"In India, the company has secured two new orders for 400 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines: One order is from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and other from Private customer - VISA Power," it noted.
The PGCIL contract, valued at 700 million rupees (around SR 53.84 million), is for transmission line in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It is to be completed in 27 months.
The 240 million rupee-order (SR18.64 million) from Visa Power is for transmission line and is expected to be executed in 12 months.
