Barwa and Dragon Mart sign Lease Agreement to open first Chinese Market in Qatar
Doha - Barwa Real Estate, one of Qatar's global leading investment and real estate companies, signed a lease agreement with the Chinese company Dragon Mart to open a market for Chinese products in Barwa 's Commercial Avenue project.
The lease agreement was signed by Abdulla Abdulaziz Al Subaie, CEO of Barwa and Dragon Mart representative, Feng Jiang at a ceremony at Barwa 's headquarters.
The Chinese Market is expected to be inaugurated on 1st March 2012 on Barwa 's Commercial Avenue and is estimated to cover an area measuring 20.965 square meters. Dragon Mart is considered the first of its kind in Qatar and is expected to feature a range of Chinese products, such as, electronics, building materials, sanitary ware and other household items.
Abdulla Abdulaziz Al Subaie, CEO of Barwa expressed his delight on the occasion of signing the lease agreement with the Dragon Mart company. He also stressed that Barwa Commercial Avenue will open a whole range of opportunities for companies, while offering a convenient shopping experience for tenants.
" Barwa Commercial Avenue meets the needs of the Qatari market. Barwa is committed to establishing partnerships with other parties and contribute to the construction boom witnesses by the country, with the aim of working towards achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030", he added.
Feng Jiang, Dragon Mart's representative commended the lease agreement with Barwa . "This step will strongly contribute towards providing the Qatari market with a variety of Chinese products, which is a promising and attractive offer for all", he added.
The Barwa Commercial Avenue project is a new mixed-use development that includes commercial units, retail spaces and residential units. The project expands along 8 square kilometers and is located on Doha's Al Montazah Street, between Mesaimeer Roundabout and the Industrial Area. The project features five major low-rise buildings; Jeerah, Safwa, Jood, Arkan and Sayer, which are expected to accommodate up to 23.981 residents.
Barwa Commercial Avenue covers a construction area of 0.5 square kilometer and 908.239 square meters, while providing 11.600 parking spaces, and 30 Landmarks and Plazas between each of its section.
Barwa Commercial Avenue is expected to be the most consumer-friendly center, enabling visitors to meet all their needs under one roof, while also fulfilling the needs of local, regional and international entrepreneurs and businesses.
