The Central Bank of Bahrain participates in Middle East & North Africa Region High Level Meeting on Strengthening Financial Sector Supervision and Current Regulatory Priorities
Manama - Kingdom of Bahrain, October 26, 2011 - Mr. Khalid Hamad, Executive Director, Banking Supervision, Central Bank of Bahrain yesterday attended a High Level Meeting on Strengthening the Financial Sector Supervision and Current Regulatory Priorities for the MENA region, held in Abu Dhabi from October 26 to 27, 2011, at the Intercontinental Hotel.
This meeting was organized by the Arab Monetary Fund and the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements, in collaboration with the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Washington. It was attended by High-ranking dignitaries including HE Sultan Bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, Dr. Jassim Al Mannai, Director General, Chairman of Board of the Arab Monetary Fund , and HE Mr. Joseph Tosevski Chairman of the FSI, BIS, Switzerland.
The meeting was also attended a number of senior officials from banking supervision in the Arab central banks, officials and managers of large commercial banks, as well as the participation of the Bank for International Settlements, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the European Central Bank, the UK Financial Services Authority and a number of international financial institutions.
