Dar Al Shifa Hospital Launches "Eye Smart" Campaign
The hospital to provide 40 free of charge diagnoses for ophthalmic eye related services
Dar Al Shifa Hospital's Head of Ophthalmology Department, Dr. Mohamed Wagih Al Deeb said: "It is crucial to understand the different types of eye problems. New technologies have been developed as necessary means of providing a thorough diagnosis of the eye diseases. The new "Eye Smart" campaign is a strong platform to shed light on the hospital's strong capabilities in detecting and curing eye related diseases."
"For example, cataract, which is a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision, is one of the most common diseases that affect patients. A cataract can occur in either or both eyes, and cannot spread from one eye to the other. Although most cataracts are related to aging, there are other types of cataract that include traumatic cataract, congenital cataract and complicated cataract.
The laser and Lasik procedures are among leading technologies that have significantly contributed in the advancement of vision correction measures. The procedures are short and last for a few minutes for each eye. Vision improvement is very quick at the following day(s) of surgery.
The new "Eye Smart" is a continued development of the Dar Al Shifa's successful contributions to the society. The hospital utilizes its state-of-the-art technology, and renowned leading doctors and consultants to deliver optimal levels of healthcare to its patients. For more information on the new campaign, patients are urged to contact Dar Al Shifa Hospital on 1802555.
