The 7th Annual World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference Calls for Nominations for the Islamic Investment Institution of the Year Award
Winning institution to be recognized in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 26th of September
Manama: Kingdom of Bahrain: 16th August 2011: The 7th Annual World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference (WIFFMC 2011) which is scheduled to be held on the 26th and 27th of September in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain is announcing the call for nominations for the prestigious Islamic Investment Institution of the Year Award. The annual award which is among the oldest and most prestigious in the world is designed to recognize institutions that have made significant contribution to the Islamic funds and investments industry and demonstrated outstanding achievements and institutional excellence in major performance areas.
Announcing the call for nominations, David McLean, Managing Director of the World Islamic Funds and Financial Markets Conference noted that "the Islamic Investment Institution of the Year Award recognizes achievements, innovations and excellence in the global Islamic investments industry and encourages industry players to further strengthen their business models and innovate next generation products that will propel the industry to the next phase of development."
A similar view was expressed by Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Baker, Executive Director - Financial Institutions Supervision at the Central Bank of Bahrain who said that "the global Islamic funds and investments industry has gained significant momentum in the recent past. In order to further strengthen the industry and enhance its growth, it is important to further enhance the innovations of new Islamic instruments and encourage players to invest more in research and developments. While the regulators have their role, the major responsibility of evolving and pushing the industry forward likes with the industry players and practitioners. Awards like the Islamic Investment Institution of the Year Award recognizes commitment and dedication by the leading industry players in further developing the global Islamic investments industry."
