Middle East Public Relations Association launches 3rd annual PR awards

14 categories will recognise excellence across the region

Dubai, August 16, 2011: The Middle East Public Relations Association, the region's trade association for Public Relations and professional communicators, announced today the launch of the MEPRA 2011 Awards, the region's leading annual PR industry awards.

The awards, which will be presented at a gala dinner on November 30, recognise PR industry best practice in 14 categories spanning group and individual expertise. Agencies and individuals, who are either MEPRA members or who can fulfil MEPRA's qualification criteria, have until October 13, 2011 to submit their entries.

Guy Taylor, Chairman, MEPRA said: "The popularity of the MEPRA Awards is a reflection of the competitive nature of agencies offering ever increasingly high standards of service to clients. But whilst most entries traditionally come from agencies, we also wish to gain greater participation from in-house practitioners."

"MEPRA sets out to be an inclusive association, representing the interests of all those engaged in public relations throughout the region. We are keen, therefore, to obtain entries and support from across the Middle East."

The MEPRA 2011 Awards reflect the depth of the professional communications industry in the region, covering a range of disciplines including corporate communications; government; consumer relations and financial and investor relations.

This year's awards, which will be judged by a panel of PR industry peers, will be presented in the following categories: Multi-disciplinary Communications; CSR and Community Affairs; Research Led Communications; Government Communications; Employee Engagement; Corporate Image/Reputation; Consumer Relations; Financial and Investor Relations; Business to Business (B2B) Communications and Best Regional Campaign. Awards will also be presented to the Agency of the Year, In-house Team of the Year and outstanding Young Professional of the Year. A final category will be awarded to an individual who in the judgement of the MEPRA board has made an outstanding contribution towards the PR industry.

Entries must involve public relations and communication activities completed and evaluated between August 1, 2010 and July 31, 2011. Continuous campaigns undertaken over a period of more than 12 months can also be nominated.
