Omantel launches Ramadan offers on local, international calls

MUSCAT: Omantel has launched special Ramadan timings for its customers, extending the off peak and super peak rates that many currently enjoy for both national and international calls.

The extended rates are being offered as a Ramadan gift from Omantel to its customers for the coming month and will benefit them whether they are prepaid, postpaid, mobile or fixed consumers. Under the scope of the new promotion off peak and super off-peak services, where applicable will start from 3pm for all Omantel and Oman Mobile services and will cover Mada, Hayyak, Nama, Fixed Lines, payphones, Jibreen and Sahl services.

Meanwhile for calls to countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh where there are three rates, the offer will be implemented for the Super Off-Peak rates which will mean even more reduced rates. The Super Off-Peak rate will also be extended to all day on Fridays helping expatriate customers to call home and talk longer for less to friends and family.

Commenting on the new promotional period, Haitham Abdullah Al Kharusi, Vice-President of Consumer Business Unit at Omantel , said: "We have decided this year to help our consumers to celebrate Ramadan with friends and family around the country and overseas by giving them the opportunity to talk for longer at more convenient times of the day.

"Ramadan is a time for families and we wanted to ensure that all of our customers from wherever they hail from could benefit from these extended Ramadan off-peal rates."

Ramadan off-peak offer from Omantel will offer all Omantel and Oman Mobile prepaid and postpaid customers the opportunity to talk to families and friends locally and internationally at off-peak rates. Customers can talk for as low as 75 baizas when calling locally from fixed to fixed where they can make international calls from their fixed line to UAE, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh for 89 baizas per minute only.

For calls made from mobile to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh during the offer period, super off-peak charge of 98 baizas per minute will be applied.
