DUBAI -- His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a decision appointing Abdullah Mohammed Saleh as the new Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre ( DIFC ), a global finance and business hub.

Saleh will replace Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer as the Governor of the DIFC with immediate effect.

Saleh, the current chairman of Dubai Financial Services Authority -- the independent regulator of all financial and ancillary services conducted through the DIFC -- is also the former managing director and chief executive of National Bank of Dubai, which had merged with Emirates International Bank to become Emirates NBD.
