Omantel Announces Launch Of Its 3rd Annual "Give, Share And Care" Ramadan Campaign
Campaign to Run Across Oman in Partnership with Dar Al Atta and Ministry of Social Development
More Than 4800 Families Across the Sultanate To Benefit From The Campaign
The campaign is being run by Oman's leading telecommunications company in partnership with Dar Al Atta and the Ministry of Social Development and will commence from Monday 25th July when the distribution of food boxes will commence to families across the country.
Omantel staff members will work with Dar Al Atta staff to distribute the boxes to families who have been identified as having the greatest need by the Ministry of Social Development.
Money raised from cash donations will be given to another needy category in liaison with Ministry of Social Development as Omantel continues its commitment to helping the less fortunate across the country and helping improve and enhance social welfare in all corners of Oman.
"At this special time of year - a time of giving and of prayer and contemplation - I am also delighted at the response from the staff at Omantel who will once again be giving up their own time and effort to personally join the Dar Al Atta team and distribute the food boxes and donate their own money towards helping this very worthwhile campaign."
This year Omantel will once again be benefitting from the expertise and distribution know-how of Dar All Atta. Speaking to the media at the press conference, Nada Al Jamali, Head of Families Committee at Dar Al Atta said: "It is wonderful that Omantel is once again launching this initiative that means we will be able to work in partnership once again to help thousands of families all over the country to benefit from this initiative.
"We all need to remember those less fortunate at this special time of year and we are delighted that Omantel are providing not only food parcels but the time and effort of their staff in volunteering to help our teams with the personal distribution efforts."
Mr. Shamsa Al Harthy from the Ministry of Social Development explained that staff from the Ministry has a vital role to play in the campaign through identifying those in greatest need who would benefit the most from the donations during Ramadan.
"The Ministry is once again happy to work in partnership with both Omantel and Dar Al Atta in ensuring that food and other donations of clothes and money go to the most needy and deserving in Omani society in all corners of the country," she added.
In last year's Ramadan campaign, Omantel donated 1300 food boxes at locations all over Oman during the Holy Month of Ramadan and also donated money to widows with orphans. Omantel staff also visited hospitals last year to present Eid gifts to children who were recovering from treatment.
Omantel Ramadhan Campaign in its first and second edition has been voted as the best social investment program in the Sultanate and won Tawasul Award for Civil Society Leaders for two consecutive years.
