Omantel appoints head of consumer operations
Omantel has made a key appointment to its senior management team with the announcement that Haitham Abdullah al Kharusi has been appointed vice president of the Consumer Business Unit, heading a team responsible for a key area of the company's business.Kharusi brings over 15 years of senior management experience in the telecom and oil and gas sectors to the role, having spent a considerable amount of his career working for a leading regional integrated telecom services operator.
Kharusi joins Omantel from a position as group vice president of brand management at UAE-based telco Etisalat, which has operations across Asia and Africa.
Announcing the appointment, Omantel CEO Dr Amer al Rawas said, "Haitham will be an invaluable member of our senior team - bringing his experience in the wider business and in telecom operations in particular, making him the ideal person to head our Consumer Business Unit."
