The Marina boutique hotel "Juweirah" with 65 rooms is planned to be completed by 2011, in addition to Rotana Hotel that is heading towards its finishing stages.
Villas in phase 1 are nearing completion; apartments and villas will be handed over this year. The Marina has also been flooded and berthing would be soon available for boats. As Sammak, an exclusive seafood restaurant located on the marina front will be opening soon.
Two beautiful meandering 18-hole Golf Courses will be incorporated amongst the villas, creating homes to a lush and green destination, the golf course is in the stages of being shaped. With free hold villas and apartments, 200 berth Marina, Marina town, and diverse restaurants and cafes, in addition to top brand names Club Med, Rotana Hotel, Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, and two Marina Boutique Hotels, Salalah Beach sets its mark as a premium destination in GCC.
Only 20 minutes away from Salalah Airport and covering a scenic land area of 15.6 million sq m, the only tropical retreat of the Gulf, Salalah Beach hosts a green house with thousands of plants to be placed around the project. They have recently planted over 1,000 coconut palms along the beach of the project; aim to have 50,000 plants planted in the project with 1 million sq m of grass. Salalah Beach Project already has a very light built up ratio of 25 per cent in comparison to the natural spread, with 40,000 sq m of green grass for golfing and over 30,000 planted plants.
Muriya was established in 2006 when Egypt's Orascom Hotels and Development (with 70 per cent stake) and Omani government owned Omran (with 30 per cent stake) came together in a joint venture. Since then, Muriya has announced four ambitious projects across the beautiful locales of Oman. Two of the ongoing projects are integrated tourism complexes (ITCs) offering freehold properties - 'Jebel Sifah' and 'Salalah Beach'. In addition, Muriya also has extensive plans to develop a 'City walk' in Muscat and work is ongoing on the boutique hotel on 'As Sodah Island'.
