STC: Deployment of More than 1 Million Meters of Fiber Optic Cables for Internet Services
Signed an Agreement with Olaya Real Estate Company
In light of STC 's continuous successes and its keenness to continuously develop its services and deliver them with quality and distinction, the Company signed a comprehensive agreement with Olaya Real Estate Company to implement the telecommunications infrastructure covering all of Olaya Real Estate's projects across the Kingdom. This services agreement aims to prepare the infrastructure to deliver fiber optics service and support, while staying abreast with the Smart Neighborhood strategy adopted by STC through its current projects with new innovative ideas based on both speed and quality.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Bandar Bin Mohammed Al-Qafari Vice President of the Network Sector on behalf of STC , and Mr. Khalid Bin Fahad Bin Saedan Vice President of Olaya Real Estate on behalf of the Company. Bin Saedan emphasized the importance of such agreements with STC which support the creation of model neighborhoods without the need for excavation while at the same time recognizing the Company's pioneering role in developing such a program which complies with the aspirations of developers and residents of these neighborhoods across the Kingdom and providing them with the basic requirements and supporting the various municipalities in upgrading their residential projects.
This agreement reflects a real partnership between STC and the real estate developers to deliver telecommunications services to these plots as quick as possible and to implement the vision of smart buildings. STC continued deploying fixed networks and extending fiber optics in commercial streets and roads in the major cities (Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam) registering a high level of growth and development of broadband services for private organizations and Government institutions situated on these roads while providing various investment opportunities. This is in addition to what has been implemented over the past few years where more than six thousand buildings have been connected with fiber technology across the kingdom.
These extensions and expansions in fiber optics services, come as part of the company's pioneering role in introducing broadband services in the Kingdom and region, and its success on reaching millions of customers subscribing to Afaq DSL services which offers integrated internet solutions. These initiatives reflect the great development the company is making to support its customers by implementing several internet services covering all segments of the society and building a strong infrastructure of the best fiber optics networks, to distinctively introduce this qualitative service in the local market, based on the largest land, marine and satellite telecommunications network in the region and the Middle East.
