Lexmark Proceeds Against Counterfeits And Trademark Violations
Lexmark, the printing solutions provider announced recently the results of two recent European convictions regarding counterfeiting and trademark violations in Greece and Turkey. Lexmark maintains a zero tolerance policy against those who try to violate its' trademarks and patents, and takes a firm stance against any individual or company that attempts to defraud its' customers.
An investigation in Turkey has lead to a conviction and sentencing for counterfeiting and trademark violations relating to Lexmark laser printer cartridges. This raid conducted in conjunction with local authorities resulted in the seizure of thousands of items of counterfeit packaging for Lexmark supplies, including the production materials and equipment for manufacturing the items.
An investigation in Greece recently led to a conviction of trademark violations for selling counterfeit ink jet cartridges. Following a series of consumer complaints, the investigation company employed by Lexmark was able to verify that two retail establishments and a wholesaler were involved, leading to arrests, convictions, sentences and serious restitution to Lexmark.
