LG Electronics Launches its "LG Technovation" IT Zone for University Students in Jordan
Amman,Jordan (July 11, 2011) Under thePatronage of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Minister, His Excellency Eng. Atef AlTal, LG Electronics recently launched its IT Experience Zone under the name "LG Technovation", located nextto Jordan University's main gate. This Technical Zone, which is the first ofits kind in the region, acts as a hub for students and the general public toexperience different LG products and services, while enjoying the internet andall it has to offer free of charge.This educational-driveninitiative will offer its visitors the chance to experience state-of-the-art productsin the world of Information Technology (IT), absolutely for free, by directly interactingwith latest LG 's 3D products such as:notebooks,mobile phones, televisions, and computer monitors.
His Excellency Engineer Atef Tell, Minister ofCommunications and Information Technology, stressed the importance of opening LG IT Zone near the University of Jordan Campus. "This IT Zone wouldserve students and help them use different technologies in Education," theminister noted. He also hailed the dedicated efforts of LG and theircontribution to the IT sector. This contribution, he added, is partof achieving the partnership between the private and public sectors and inaccordance with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah the II towards buildinga knowledge-based society.
LGElectronics Levant Managing Director, Mr. Kevin Cha, believes that thisinitiative serves an educational goal both academically and technologically. Hesaid: "We are thrilled to be offering this service to aid and facilitate thelives of university students. Through this zone and the free services itprovides, students will get the chance to accomplish so much in regards totheir learning experience, by making use of our technologies at no additionalcost."
LGTechnovation was launched in an opening ceremony on July 11, 2011, in thepresence of: ICT Minister, His Excellency Eng. Atef Al Tal; Jordan University President,Dr. Adel El Twaisy; Dean of KingAbdullah II School for Information Technology (KASIT) Dr.Nadeem Obaid; and LGElectronics Levant Managing Director Mr. Kevin Cha; as well as several otherofficials and university students.
