Belhasa Projects secures new contracts in India
Dubai, UAE; June 11, 2011: UAE based Belhasa Projects (BHP) has secured three new projects in India which include a contract to construct 3,007 square meters running track for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Training Centre in Ghaziabad; the building of a 7, 380 square meters running track in Dharamshala Stadium in the state of Himachal Pradesh; and a 7,200 square meters running track for the Indian Navy in Kochi, Kerala.Commenting on winning the new projects, Albert Joseph, Business Development Manager, Belhasa Projects, said: "India is a strong growth market for us. The running tracks we built for the Common Wealth Games in India were our entry point into the country's sports and coatings industry. Today, we have successfully completed several projects for the Government and are on track to complete new assignments. Belhasa Projects has provided highest quality sports construction and surfacing for over 20 years and we are keen to make use of opportunities in emerging markets like India."
Since last year, the company has supplied and installed seven running tracks of a total area of more than 60, 000 square metres in India. Six of the running tracks were laid in different locations in New Delhi for the Common Wealth Games and one in the city of Rohtak. All the projects were funded by the Government of India and consisted of standard 400 metre tracks.
