Panasonic launches new range of HDTVs
Panasonic launched a new range of VIERA high-definition television or HDTV along with a range of LCD, LED and Plasma TVs, Blu-ray home theatre system and a sound bar on Monday.The company also announced that it will launch an expanded range of VIERA Plasma, LED and LCD TVs this year. The new attractively-designed models combine eco sensibility with superior product performance and enhanced networking functionality.
"This year, Panasonic will expand its range of 3D and LED televisions to include 13 different 3D and five LED models for consumers to select from. In addition to these new models, we will include Panasonic 's VT30 and ST30 Neo Plasma 3D TVs featuring unique technologies like Infinite Blackpro and Intelligent Viera Connect," said Abby Thomas, senior manager, Panasonic Marketing, Middle East . " Panasonic has witnessed a 120 per cent increase in Plasma TV sales in Oman since last year and it has a 73 per cent share worldwide in the large TV segment."
" Panasonic is targeting a market share of 35 per cent for large screen 3D TV by 2012, and 45 per cent market share for over 37inch televisions in Oman," said George Alexander, general manager, Retail Engineering & Distribution, OMASCO.
"VIERA Connect is a new and enhanced cloud-based Internet service from Panasonic . The new VIERA Connect allows users to enjoy sports, interactive games, and a variety of other content in addition to the standard movies and television programmes," said Thomas.
Panasonic 's commitment to sustainability and producing products that are ecologically sound is documented in the enhanced life span of its Plasma HDTVs and the absence of lead or mercury in its panels. "Improved power efficiency has also been addressed with new and improved phosphor mixtures and more efficient electronics," he said Thomas.
