Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy receives a delegation from Exxon Mobile
Discussing the Expectations of Energy Future
This meeting aims to foster collaboration, coordination and expertise exchange between the Council and Exxon Mobile , which conducts annual studies on world consumption of energy.
During the meeting, His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer hailed the studies which look into the future of energy sector, noting that Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is working in line with the "UAE's Vision 2021" so as to enable the UAE become one of the most competitive countries in the world. Besides, the Council explores all aspects of sustainable energy as it is the driver of economy.
On his part, Exxon Mobile delegation presented their report, which expects that there will be an increase in world demand in 2030 at 35% in comparison with 2005, with an increase of over 70% in demand in developing countries. Moreover, the report shows that natural gas will be the fastest growing main source of energy, the most reliable, cleanest and reasonable in price, and will cover a wide range of requirements and needs.
The report also stresses the necessity to expand the economic resources of energy so as to meet the increasing demand for energy. These sources include oil, natural gas and coal which will provide around 80% of world demand for energy in 2030. Natural gas, as being the cleanest source of basic fuel, will replace coal as the second biggest source of energy in 2030. Furthermore, the use of renewable and modern sources of energy including nuclear energy, solar energy, wind energy, and biofuel will be widely expanded.
At the end of the visit, Exxon Mobile delegation extended their thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, for the good reception and providing them with the opportunity to discuss various aspects of collaboration between the two sides.
