Sharjah Islamic Bank sets up special sections for women in Khor Fakkan and Kalba
Khor Fakkan branch to get corporate banking section
He has also ordered that a section for corporate banking be set up in the Khor Fakkan branch to offer support to the newly-opened business services section in SIB 's Fujairah branch, and to cover the growing demands of the corporate banking sector in Sharjah's Eastern Region.
The instructions were given during the recent inspection visit of SIB Executive Management to bank branches in the Eastern Region, including branches in Dibba Al Hosn, Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Fujairah, as part of the Bank's 'Tawasul' programme. Abdullah was accompanied on the visits by Deputy CEO Ahmed Sa'ad, Head of Retail Banking Group Jassem Al Bloushi, Head of Branches Tamer Hamza, and Regional Manager Amin Al Sahlawi.
The management team inspected branch progress and financial results, and discussed with employees possible ways to develop banking services and satisfy customers in line with banking quality standards. The team also made a number of observations that resulted in the CEO issuing instructions to improve or change certain areas or services, and members of management met with a number of customers and listened to their suggestions, a move that was widely welcomed by both clients and employees.
SIB 's Tawasul programme aims to build bridges of direct communication between branch employees and members of the Bank's Executive Management team. Executive Management visits SIB branches across the UAE with the aim of supporting and encouraging branch employees who are responsible for projecting the Bank's image, values and vision.
In 2002 Sharjah Islamic Bank became the first bank in the UAE to convert from conventional to Islamic banking. Since then, it has offered a wide spectrum of Shari'a-compliant services that cater to the needs of individuals, companies and institutions, as well as investment and international banking services. As a result of well-considered strategies and careful planning based on risk management and cost control, SIB has seen unprecedented growth. The bank currently has 24 branches across the UAE, in addition to more than 100 ATMs and deposit machines installed in residential districts and other vital areas such as shopping malls and entertainment centres.
