Giant Stores to open branch at Barwa Al Sailiya complex
DOHA: The long wait for a shopping outlet for the nearly 1,000 tenants of the Barwa housing complex in Al Sailiya would come to an end soon, with Giant Stores , a leading retail chain signing an agreement with Barwa to set up a shopping mall inside the complex.The facility is expected to be opened by the end of next month. According to the agreement signed yesterday by Barwa Masaken, a subsidiary of Barwa Real estate with Giant Stores , the latter will rent and operate the shopping mall at Masaken Barwa Al Sailiyia complex.
The signing ceremony was attended by Khalifa Al Mohannadi, General Manager of Barwa Al Sailiyiah and Musaimeer Limited Co, and Maheer Al Halabi, General Manager of Qatar Markets Co - Giant Stores Qatar.
"Concluding the lease agreement with Giant Stores came after a round of negotiations to secure the best services to the tenants. The parties have also agreed to immediately operate the shopping mall. Giant Stores has committed that the facility will be opened by the end of June," said Al Mohannadi.
In addition, the shopping complex will include all sections of Giant Stores fresh foods, such as meat, dairy products and fish.
"The opening of this new branch comes in line with our expansion strategy in Qatar and it will make Giant Stores ' branches totalling 5 branches," said the Giant Stores official.
