Website Students Competition - winners awarded
MUSCAT - Professor Dr. Burkhard Rauhut, Rector of GUtech announced the winners of the website students competition on Wednesday afternoon. "The university website of our university is the gateway to the public and it reflects our activities and the students are an important part of them," said Professor Dr. Burkhard Rauhut. The new GUtech website shall be launched soon.
"We received sixteen different proposals and we have chosen the winners of the competition according to two different categories: practicality of the website and artistic value" said Aurel Von Richthofen, Assistant Professor at the Department of Urban Planning and Architectural Design at GUtech.
Taleed Rose (2nd year BSc Urban Planning and Architectural Design UPAD) and Abdullah Shams (2nd year Applied Information Technology AIT) received the first prize, a harddisc and a camera. "The concept idea is a visual idea. It revolves around treasured memories which are valued by the students, teachers, and anyone else. The grid lines correspond to the GUTech logo lending the Home page or "first impression" as an overall theme. The style of the website is designed in such a way as to give hints at a wall, building, or some sort of entity which comes together," said Taleed Rose. The second and third prizes were awarded to Ali Al Mughairi (UPAD), Nourhan Abdelhalim (AIT), Aysha Farooq (UPAD) and Al Harith Al Jamaili (AIT).
