Qatari Diar freezes real estate projects in unrest-hit Syria
DOHA: The mass protests in Syria have prompted Qatari Diar Real Restate Investment Company to temporarily freeze its projects in the country. But the company said it was committed to completing the projects once the situation returns to normal.
Qatari Diar Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Hedfa, reiterated the company's committment to complete its projects in Syria.
He added that the company was also committed to completing the Ibn Hani project. Early last year, Qatari Diar launched a beach resort project to be set up in the coastal town of Lattakia with an investment of $350m. The project stretches over 244,000 square metres on the Ibn Hani coast near Syria's main sea port of Lattakia.
Early last year, Qatari Diar handed over a luxurious residential complex in Hani bay near Lattakia.
