Senator Abu-Ghazaleh Tackles the Power and Ingenuity of Knowledge
Knowledge represents the road to fortune and economical development - HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh
Upon an invitation by Al-Asriyya Schools and Palestine International Institute, HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh delivered a lecture entitled "Politics or Economy or Knowledge" in which he stressed on giving priority to the manufacture of knowledge because it represents the road to fortune and economical development.
"The economical development is a crucial issue and essential. The social effects of such development are as important, that's why we need to develop social indicators to measure economic indicators which will lead to achieving sustainable development and ultimately to economic, political and military power," he said.
According to HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh, work has already started to prepare for an Arab Youth Summit in cooperation with the League of Arab States , a proposal His Excellency made during the Arab Youth Forum at the Arab Economic Development Summit in addition to a Knowledge Award for Youth under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States .
HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh tackled the economic crisis saying "it has only just begun while the financial crises ended. Some countries dealt with the crises by shifting them from the private to the public sector through buying debt and assisting financial institutions which led the deficit to be transferred to governments instead of companies."
"I see the future looks brighter to countries like China, India, Russia, Korea and Brazil in addition to Turkey, Egypt and Iran where the population is huge," he said.
"China currently has the second largest economy in the world and has the ability to become No. 1 due to the productive and consummative manpower and Egypt is also destined to become an advanced country due to youth knowledge rebellion," he added.
Head of Al Asriyah Forum Dr. Asaad Abdel Rahman presented HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh with the Forum Shield at the end of the lecture.
