Qatar: Marriott to open three properties in June
DOHA: Marriott International will simultaneously open three properties in Doha in June as part of its massive expansion project in the Middle East and North African region, hotel officials announced yesterday.The Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center, which are part of the Doha City Center Mall development, will open their doors before the end of second quarter.
The hotel complex is ideally located in West Bay across Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) in two modern 48-storey towers, on the doorstep of the new business district of Doha, just 15 minutes from the Doha International Airport. It is uniquely positioned as the only hotel complex in Doha which is linked to a mall making all the hundreds of shops in the City Centre Mall easily accessible to the hotels' clients.
"We are excited to introduce a unique collection of Marriott International brands in Qatar, emphasising the growing importance of Doha as an emerging destination," said Oliver Kahf, General Manager of the Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott & Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center.
The Renaissance Doha City Center, comprising 257 rooms and suites, stands out with its colourful fabrics, unique patterns, innovative designs and local artistic touch.
The Courtyard by Marriott Doha City Center boasts of 204 guest rooms and is designed to ensure that refreshing business and functional comfort is taken care of. The Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center, offering 123 serviced apartments, provides the perfect combination of apartment-style living and premier hotel service for extended stay travellers.
"Despite recent economic and political uncertainties in the Middle East and the northern tier of Africa, our development opportunities in the region remain strong," said Ed Fuller, president & managing director for international lodging. Fuller also announced the opening of six more properties in the MENA region until 2014.
