ACC, World Bank discuss means to combat corruption

Amman, April 5 (Petra) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) discussed with World Bank's envoy Yousef Nasrallah means of boosting bilateral cooperation and supporting the World Bank's international initiative to activate the role of anti-corruption authorities, according to a press release issued by the ACC on Tuesday.

The initiative, in which the European Commission, the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime are taking part, aims at preventing corruption by strengthening institutionalization of anti-corruption authorities.

During the meeting, the envoy was briefed on the commission's accomplishments, it role to combat corruption and its efforts at the regional and international levels.

ACC President Samih Bino stressed the need to ensure the success of the initiative, urging anti-corruption institutions and organizations to coordinate on fighting corruption.
