WGC 2018 BID Campaign Launched
Doha - Qatar, Monday 21 March 2011: Today, as GASTECH kicks off, Qatargas , the world's largest LNG producer, launches its Bid Campaign for hosting the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2018.
As a member of the International Gas Union ([IGU), Qatargas has taken the decision and commitment, to bid for the Presidency of the 2015-18 IGU triennium, which would also see the State of Qatar host the prestigious natural gas industry event - the 2018 World Gas Conference (WGC),
The State of Qatar is now the world's largest exporter of LNG and in the eighty year history of the IGU, the WGC has never been held in the Middle East.
"We certainly believe we have the capabilities, resources and desire to host such an event under the guidance of His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry."
