Royal Jordanian Agrees Desktop Deal With SITA

The agreement covers desktop remote support and equipment for 56 out-stations which includes software support and more than 500 new PCs and 18 servers for major offices. In addition to on-site maintenance support, there will be a SITA-operated helpdesk in Amman available 24/7.

Hussein Dabbas, CEO, Royal Jordanian , said: "This enlargement of SITA 's support for our route network of 58 destinations is essential to maintaining our position as the Middle East's leading airline and to enhance our standing as a member of the oneworld alliance. It strengthens our relationship with SITA as we have also introduced SITA 's fare pricing software, Airfare Insight."

Royal Jordanian became a member of the oneworld alliance in April 2007 and operates a fleet of 30 aircraft which carried three million passengers last year.

RJ's vision to be the Airline of choice connecting Jordan and the Levant with the world puts the airline at the forefront of the air carriers operating in the Middle East.

Its headquarters are located in the heart of the capital, Amman, and its flights are operated from Queen Alia International Airport to 58 destinations, spread over four continents. In June this year, RJ will re-open direct, regular service between Amman and Berlin. Service to the German capital resumes 10 years after having suspended, in 2000.

Member of the oneworld alliance since April 1, 2007, RJ is the first Arab and regional air carrier to join any of the three global airline alliances.

The RJ fleet includes 30 aircraft: Airbus A340, A330, A310, A320, A321, A319 and Embraer 195 and 175 aircraft.

In order to cater to the demand on travel, RJ is considering expanding its route network during the coming three years to many cities around the world like: Johannesburg, Tehran, Izmir, Luxor, Aswan and others.

The company also intends to modernize its fleet of long-range aircraft. The airline announced that it had selected the wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner as the replacement aircraft for its long range Airbus A340s. However, the delivery of 11 Boeing 787s, which were scheduled to join the airline at the beginning of 2011, was delayed until 2013.

In the last five years Royal Jordanian won nine world-class awards, eight of which are granted to the air transport industry and one national award.
