Cabsat & Satellite MENA 2011 dominates market and closes on resounding success
Exhibitors Report Significant Business during the Middle East's Premier Exhibition for Digital Media, Broadcasting and Satellite Industries
For three days of power-packed business development and knowledge exchange, visitors had the perfect opportunity not only to see the latest innovative products and services the industry had to offer, but also learn about the new technologies and trends during the many specialised workshops and seminars that the show hosted.
More than 770 companies from over 55 countries, including 11 national pavilions, participated in this year's show. Leading companies including Al Yahsat, Arabsat, Blusens, Cetel, Dubai Studio City, Eutelsat, FOR-A, GlobeCast, Grass Valley, Gulfsat, Harris, Hitachi, Horizon Satellite Services, iDirect, Intelsat, JVC, Mediacast, Nilesat, Nynex, Panasonic, SES World Skies, Skyband, Sky Stream, Sony, Televes, Telespazio, Thomson Broadcast, Turksat and twofour54, all showcased the latest technological advances.
"Our presence in CABSAT & Satellite MENA gave us the opportunity to meet with many of our clients and we have already secured a number of agreements. I have to say we were delighted with the quality services and facilities we received from the organisers," he added.
CABSAT also offered visitors a chance to take a break and enjoy some excellent content. The Chillout Zone, sponsored by Sony Professional Solutions, was a haven of the best HD and stereoscopic 3D content.
Awad Mousa, Head of Product Marketing, Sony Professional Solutions MEA, said: "The attendance was better this year, which is usually what we look for. A lot of people liked coming in for things like the 3D or Camera workshops which were taking place. More things happened in the show so it was not "just come and see it and that's it!" There has been actually more things people could come and benefit from."
"United Broadcast takes part in CABSAT every year. It's part of our integral strategy for exhibiting in the region. Being in CABSAT is a key part of our marketing strategy. Every year it's progressing and we find out that it's crucially important to get our name our there," stated Peter Kyriakos, Marketing Manager, United Broadcast & Media Solutions. "We believe that CABSAT is the ideal exhibition for the region and this year we have seen increase in visitors from decision makers as well as end users, but I think in this type of industry everyone has an influence. We used CABSAT this year to launch so many products."
Visitors' feedback has also been positive. Mohammed Samir, Manager of Warka Trading Company, an Iraq-based broadcast and media systems company, said: "CABSAT showcased the new broadcast technologies I have been trying to find from new cameras and mixers to SNG's. I have visited the show for three days and have not had enough time to go through everything I needed to see, examine and learn about."
"As the digital media and satellite sectors continue to grow, I'm delighted to see our events are mirroring this development and are providing a pertinent networking and business platform unmatched in the region," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of CABSAT.
Next year's show will be held from 28 Feb - 1 March 2012 in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre .
