Aljazira bags 'Deals of the Year' award
JEDDAH: Bank Aljazira received the "Euromoney Project Finance - Deals of the Year 2010" for its role as Islamic Facility Agent for two award-winning deals in the year 2010.The bank was honored by Euromoney Project Finance Magazine recently in Dubai with two awards: one for its involvement as a mandated lead arranger in arranging financings for Satorp - a refinery and petrochemical joint venture project sponsored by Saudi Aramco and Total S.A., and the second for its involvement in financing of GCC's first vertically integrated mine mouth-to-milled end-product aluminum complex, sponsored by Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) and Alcoa.
Ayman Al-Kaf, head of Syndication Division at Bank Aljazira , said that "because of its specialty as a fully Shari'ah-compliant institution and the trust of valued project sponsors in its profiles as an established player in the industry, Bank Aljazira has also been appointed for the most coveted roles as the Islamic Facility Agents for all Islamic tranches within these two landmark financings,".
