QDVC is the first construction company to receive QSAS award for its best practices and QSAS certification for its projects in Lusail
QDVC is proud to announce its QSAS award, the first delivered by Barwa Qatari Diar Research Institute to a construction company in Qatar. Moreover, QDVC received QSAS certification for its projects in Lusail, the car parks in Marina District and the Light Rail Transit System.
In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the strategies of its shareholders, Qatari Diar and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, QDVC 's target for environmental standards is to achieve excellence, by successfully designing and delivering projects that carefully balance the interests of the current environment with the needs of future generations.
"Green building at QDVC is not only a range of innovative materials and methods", said Hamad Al Bishri, Deputy CEO, "it is a whole eco-friendly attitude, raising awareness about environmental issues inside the company first and then to the public. Being the first company to receive the QSAS award, we understand our role and responsibilities towards the whole construction industry in Qatar. QDVC
is a Qatari Shareholding Company incorporated under the Law of Qatar.
The Company received Commercial Registration in April 2007. The percent shares held by each partner of the company are 51% by Qatari Diar , incorporated in Qatar and acting as the Qatari partner, and 49% by Vinci Construction Grands Projets, incorporated in France and acting as the non-Qatari Partner.
QDVC is currently working in Lusail for the Car Parks and the LRT (Light Rail Transit System), on the Sheraton Park Site Project, in the PS70 Doha North Sewage JV, in the Qatar Bahrain Causeway JV and in Eritrea on the Dahlak Island Resort. - The Qatar Sustainability Assessment System (QSAS) is the first of its kind performance-based sustainability rating system in the MENA region, developed by BQDRI in collaboration with T.C. Chan Center at the University of Pennsylvania - USA, which aims at creating a sustainable urban environment to reduce the environmental impacts while satisfying local community needs.
In addition to addressing all locally relevant aspects of sustainability, ecological impact, and green building design criteria, QSAS developed a standalone building energy standard to support Qatar's building energy ratings.
