NSCSA Successfully Implemented the ERP System
The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia ( NSCSA ) announces successful implementation of the unified system of the Enterprise Resource Planning (Oracle ERP). The system was implemented by EJADA and based on the best international practices and methods, offering the ability to define & measure the company's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) along with providing a set of reports necessary to help in making strategic decisions. This was in consistency with the company strategic plan to promote its competitive capabilities and in continuation of its efforts deployed to be complied with the standards and laws regulating its financial, administrative and operational activities.
By achieving this, the company completes the initial stage of its strategy related to Information Technology named "Manarah". This strategy is consistent with the company plan aiming to have the latest developed technologies, systems and applications to support all the sectors and departments of the company, to keep up with the growth and to improve the level of its services.
NSCSA has also succeeded in implementing the unified budget system that is based on Oracle Hyperion, aiming at facilitating the preparation and supervision of the annual budget, along with providing the reports necessary to monitor the overall expenses and incomes according to the approved budget, and also avail the unified reports of the financial position, cash flows and income statement including other financial reports that depend on the direct electronic link between the main corporate systems and the company business units systems.
On this occasion, Mr. Saleh Al-Jasser, the CEO of NSCSA , expressed his pride for having successful implementation of Manarah project. This comes as a confirmation of the leadership the company has taken, as the first company in the Middle East to implement an information system for corporate governance and risk management that enhance the quality of disclosure and in the process contributing to the company commitment to the standards and laws governing its activity.
He confirmed that this project represented a quantum leap in the company business and march, noting that the initiatives of the company strategy in the Information Technology revolved around developing the IT Infrastructure, enhancing the security of information and communications, ensuring continuity of IT services, developing human resources to be capable of providing the necessary support with high quality for all users, and managing the entire systems professionally in a way that meets the current and future requirements of the company.
Al-Jasser thanked EJADA, Oracle, KPMG and HP for their support, commitment and continued effective and positive contributions which ensured the success of Manarah project, pointing out that the company plans this year to expand the usage of the new systems as part of the second phase, along with beginning to establish new projects such as a backup Data Center to ensure the continued availability of the most critical systems around the clock.
