Hilton Worldwide reiterates commitment to re-open "le Palace" hotel in Gammarth
TUNIS, Feb. 11, 2011 (TAP) - Hilton Worldwide Group confirmed, last Thursday in a communiqué, full commitment to its Management Agreement for ''le Palace'' Hotel in Gammarth, which it has officially managed since January 1st,2011, as soon as a receiver is appointed for this hotel .The hotel is currently managed by ''la Banque de Tunisie ( BT )'', after its owner Belhassen Trabelsi (son-in- law of ousted president) escaped.
The group expressed readiness for negotiations with the Hotel staff (numbering 201) who call for the regularization of their situation. Christian Grage, Vice-President Operations, Egypt and Levant for Hilton Worldwide expressed "commitment to local communities and to employing Tunisian workers. We are looking forward to playing an active part in the city of Tunis."
