For its Asia customers Kuwait Paraxylene exports 1st shipment of heavy aromatics
Kuwait, February 7, 2011 -- Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company ( KPPC ) announced it has exported its first ever shipment of heavy aromatics.
Heading to customers in Asia, the shipment's size is 17,000 metric tons. KPPC is a fully owned subsidiary of Kuwait Aromatics Company ( KARO ).
On this occasion, KARO board Chairman Al-Rashidi said, " KPPC aromatics plant will continue selling heavy aromatics produced at the site, with a capacity of 80,000 metric tons annually (MTA), to enhance the added-value and returns from this stream to the aromatics business."
Al-Rashidi expressed utmost appreciation to Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) and EQUATE Petrochemical Company for their role in the success of the heavy aromatics production.
KARO is a joint venture grouping Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) with 40%, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) with 40%, while Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC) owns the remaining 20%.
EQUATE is the single operator of Greater EQUATE, which includes KPPC , TKSC and The Kuwait Olefins Company (TKOC) under one fully integrated operational umbrella at Kuwait's Shuaiba Industrial Area.
