By Ahmed Shaaban SHARJAH -- Sharjah Transport will introduce changes to two major bus routes of its intercity transport network from Tuesday. The amendments will cover the timing of the Sharjah-Abu Dhabi-Sharjah trips, as well as the bus route No: 116 which connects Sharjah city with Khor Fakkan passing by Al Dhaid, Masafi and Fujairah.
Sharjah Intercity Transport Manager Adel Khalil, on Monday, said the move is in line with the commuters' suggestions which were received at toll free No: 700067000.
"A new bus stop has been added to route 116 close to the Kalba Abattoir located in the Eastern Region of the emirate of Sharjah. Seven daily trips will be operated to and from Sharjah on both directions," Khalil said. The corporation is running three bus routes 116, 119 and 120 in the Eastern and Western regions.

"The new bus stop will be fully under our office control for evaluation in terms of the number of vehicles, trips and passengers." The timing of the Sharjah-Abu Dhabi route has been rescheduled to start half an hour earlier.
"The 17 vehicles operating on the Sharjah (Al Jubail Station) to Abu Dhabi bus route run 40 trips daily in both directions for Dh30 a trip," Khalil told Khaleej Times, adding that there are more10 trips on the Sharjah-Al Ain route.
