RJ operates two extra flights between Amman and Cairo today
Amman, January 30, 2011: On January 30, Royal Jordanian operated six flights between Amman and Cairo, four scheduled and two are extra, in order to transport Jordanian citizens who wish to come back to the Kingdom, in light of the exceptional conditions prevailing in Egypt.
RJ President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said that the airline on Sunday ran six flights between Queen Alia International Airport and Cairo International Airport , using wide-bodied Airbus A310s and A321s to speed up transportation of the largest possible number of passengers to the Kingdom, despite the fact that RJ representatives are having difficulty reaching the Cairo airport to serve passengers.
The RJ president also stressed that RJ is offering facilities at Cairo International Airport , in coordination with the Jordanian embassy, noting that the RJ airport staff are making it easier for passengers to embark, even without having prior booking on the mentioned flights.
Dabbas added that RJ changed today's flight schedules to Cairo to enable Jordanians to return to Jordan early. The four aircraft departed from Amman at 10:00am, 13:15pm, 13:30pm and 15:00pm.
There is limited demand on flights to Cairo, whereas the aircraft are fully loaded back from the Egyptian capital, said Dabbas.
He added that the airline will continue its operations to Cairo. Passengers wishing to fly to Jordan are requested to go directly to the airport, and not to the RJ sales office located in Qasr Nile area in Cairo, which is closed due to the current situation.
The airline is operating wide-bodied aircraft to Alexandria and Sharm Al Sheikh according to the schedule, said Dabbas.
RJ
operates four daily flights to Cairo, four weekly flights to Alexandria and five weekly flights to Sharm Al Sheikh during the winter season.
