GE Healthcare Highlights LOGIQ E9's Advanced Elastography and Needle Tracking Capabilities

Dubai, UAE; January 30, 2011: GE Healthcare, the healthcare business of General Electric Company (GE) , recently highlighted the newly launched advanced elastograhy and needle tracking capabilities of its LOGIQ™ E9 general imaging ultrasound systems.

More than 3000 LOGIQ™ E9 machines have been shipped as an increasing number of healthcare organizations experience the impact of innovative, advanced, imaging technology. The aggressive adoption and consistent use of the LOGIQ E9, spanning a global customer base, is fueled by innovative benefits that provide clinicians with the ability to deliver quality patient care defined by extraordinary image quality and increasingly accurate, effective ultrasound procedures.

The elastography and needle tracking capabilities further differentiate the LOGIQ E9 from traditional ultrasound systems by providing clinicians with the tools to help interpret internal tissue structures and aid challenging interventional procedures such as biopsies, ablations, drainage, fluid aspiration and general injections.

Launched in 2008, the LOGIQ E9 has continually added advanced capabilities to meet the needs of physicians tasked with delivering uncompromised, quality, patient care. VScan, GE Healthcare's innovative, pocket-sized visualization tool for point-of-care imaging, is also being showcased at Arab Health. VScan was recently recognized by Popular Science magazine as the Grand Award winner for Health in the 23^rd annual "Best of What's New" issue.

Additionally, GE Healthcare highlighted the Venue 40, Voluson E8, LOGIQ e, LOGIQ P6 and ViewPoint ultrasound systems at Arab Health 2011.
