The Man Who Gave The Land Cruiser Its Shape
Jeddah: ALJ hosted an event for selected clients and Toyota representatives to meet with the Chief Engineer of Toyota Commercial Vehicle Development Center and Lexus Development Center, Mr. Sadayoshi Koyari, who has visited the Kingdom this week.
Mr. Koyari took on the role of Chief Engineer in 2007 and is now responsible for the Land Cruiser, Prado as well as the Lexus GX460 and LX570.
"The Land Cruiser has been a huge success both globally and in Saudi Arabia, with more than six million sold worldwide and over 2 million units sold in the Middle East since the first model was introduced in the region in 1955," said Mr. Koyari. "For more than 60 years, three key words have been the basis of each generation of the Land Cruiser: strength, durability and reliability. With these words always in mind when introducing a new edition we have continued to honour the trust placed in us by the millions of loyal Land Cruiser customers around the globe."
Welcoming Mr. Koyari on his visit, Adel Mohammed Ezzat, Toyota Marketing Director of the SUV division at ALJ , said: "In Saudi Arabia we call the Land Cruiser "The Conqueror of the Desert", a fitting name for a vehicle that been tried and tested in one of the world's toughest operating environments in terms of both temperature and terrain."
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has been present in Saudi Arabia since 1955 in a legendary partnership with Abdul Lateef Jameel Company ( ALJ ), the sole distributor of Toyota brands in the Kingdom, providing its customers with excellence which is supported by the strength and breadth of ALJs kingdom-wide network of sales outlets and service centres.
