Dubai, UAE. 9th January, 2011: UK flag carrier, British Airways has launched a New Years sale, with prices slashed by over 20 percent in the airlines World Traveller (economy) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) cabins to celebrate increased regional demand.

With the sale ending on January 25th, Middle East passengers can take advantage of reduced fares to popular destinations in Europe and the USA. Fares are available for travel until September 30th 2011 and the prices start from AED2,375 and include taxes, charges and service fees.

London and New York continue to be the most popular destinations from the region and passengers from the UAE can fly from Dubai to New York - via London Heathrow - for just AED 3,855.

Paolo De Renzis, British Airways' Area Commercial Manager, Middle East said: "Traffic from the region remained robust throughout 2010 and we remain committed to offering our customers competitive fares and value for money. With these special offers, British Airways is making some of the most famous cities in the world more accessible.

"We have also seen a lot of inbound tourists from America and Europe transit through London before heading to the UAE for holiday breaks. It remains one of our most popular destinations globally.

"Abu Dhabi's emergence as a world-class tourism and business hub is making a significant contribution to the ever-increasing load factors to the capital, while in Dubai we've added an additional daily service for the duration of our winter schedule illustrating the emirate's importance to the airline."
