8% Spike In Hiring For GCC Companies In Last 6 Months
Dubai: A recent survey shows that 56% of firms in the GCC are currently hiring, up from 48% in June when the poll was last conducted. This reflects a global trend as chief executives and HR directors across the globe are shifting their focus from reduction and containment to sourcing talent that they will need to improve the markets. The war on talent has ended, and the war for talent has begun. The inaugural Recruitment and Talent Management Forum, an IIR Middle East event is set to take place January. This forum running alongside TAWDHEEF, the Recruitment Show, will address the new issues currently facing businesses in the region in light of the changing economic climate.
"As the GCC economies begin to return to something more like normality, what was identified before the global crisis as the single most important challenge to their ability to meet the demands of growth - adequate human resources - is again becoming serious.", Ian Thomas, Head of Manpower and Talent Management at the Banque Saudi Fransi in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia says. He adds, "This forum, is very timely. It is designed to raise awareness of all aspects of the issue, to acknowledge its complexity, and to assist both HR practitioners and business leaders to create integrated, practical, solutions based on international best practice but also taking into account specifically local factors. "
Industry leaders and pioneering experts will raise debate and discuss strategic solutions to issues concerning recruitment and talent management, through various case studies and interactive panel discussions.
The Recruitment and Talent Management Forum will take place from 24-27 January at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi.
