Special 40th anniversary models from Kia

MUSCAT -- "It is our way of commemorating the 40th National Anniversary of the blessed renaissance of the nation," says the spokesperson for Reliable International Automotive, the award-winning authorised distributor for Kia in Oman. "As a token of our dedication, we take pride in presenting special 40th anniversary edition of Sorento, Cadenza and Cerato models."

The Kia anniversary edition are truly special, embellished with 40th anniversary special touches. The special features on the Kia Cerato 2010 include 40th anniversary theme, courtesy illumination, rear licence plate, corner protector, national theme stripes and rear view camera.

The Kia Cerato is a completely madeover sedan, with a 1.6L (123 HP) and 6-speed automatic transmission. The interior feature in the Cerato that Kia is proud of seems to be a new "super vision" LCD cluster with reddish lighting with warning-message and trip-computer functionality at the bottom of the cluster. Also available is a basic four-speaker audio system, with the option of six-speaker system that adds tweeters, plus a choice of three radio/CD players and the option of MP3 and iPod connectivity.

Standard are power windows, electric mirrors, 15-inch wheels with hubcaps, cloth upholstery and central locking. Other available features in higher models include 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with starter button, automatic A/C, some chrome exterior trim, "super vision" gauge cluster, fog lamps, sunroof, leather steering wheel with audio controls, rear parking sensors, aluminium pedals and automatic headlights. Safety is being downplayed again, as the basic Cerato comes with a single driver's airbag. The higher model gets ABS, active headrests and rear disc brakes instead of drums. Side-curtain airbags and stability control are not available.

The special features on Kia Sorento include the 40th anniversary theme , Illumination, rear licence plate, national theme stripes and DVD system.

The all-new Sorento has been one of Kia 's best selling models globally, with nearly 50,400 units delivered through the first four months of 2010. It has already picked up an SUV of the year award in New Zealand and was recently named '4×4 Car of the Year 2010 import winner' award from Germany's Auto Bild Allrad magazine. It offers a 2.4L (172 HP) / 3.5L V6 ( 274 HP) engine choices with 6-speed automatic transmission, antilock brake system and dual airbags, back warning sensors. Rear view camera, front and rear AC, CD MP3 player w/USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

The special features on Kia Cadenza include the 40th anniversary theme -- courtesy illumination, rear licence plate, national theme stripes and DVD system.

Power in the Cadenza comes from a 3.5-litre V6 engine that develops 286bhp and is attached to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The motor is a strong one and gives the Cadenza plenty of punch at all speeds. The gearbox is also decent, anticipating gear changes well and shifting quickly and smoothly.

The ride comfort in the Cadenza is excellent. Rough road surfaces are soaked up well by the chassis and the interior is well built and nicely designed -- very comfortable, with plenty of style and space. The driving position is very comfortable thanks to multi-way adjustable power seats and steering column.

Rear seat passengers get plenty of leg and head room. Some attractive and unique interior lighting gives the cabin a touch of class. The quality of the interior is top class, the design is modern/ distinctive and the materials used feel solid.
